Around 15 minutes east of Ceva, this small village can reached via a turnoff from the 343 provincial road. Located high on a hill, it offers beautiful views over the valley.

Date: 13th century; modifications in the 16th century.

The castle of the Incisa di Camerana marquesses dominates Sale San Giovanni from the top of its hill and is the old village’s most picturesque building.

The structure, accessed through an ogival arch, is the result of rebuilding and modifications during different periods (in the 17th and 18th century it was an aristocratic residence) and today it is hard to make out the medieval traces due to these frequent renovations.

Inside, the “Salone degli Alerami” is of interest, decorated with 18th-century paintings and frescoes and accessed via a monumental staircase.

Currently it is part of a private residence.
